Former NBA and Globetrotter Players Join the Greenwich Stars

Play Fall, Winter and Spring Basketball with The National Champions

 

GREENWICH, Connecticut, August 30, 2017 – The Greenwich Stars Basketball Organization has more star power than ever before.

Top basketball coaches Greg Butler and Anthony Gaines have joined the Greenwich Stars Organization (www.GreenwichStars.com)  Butler went to Stanford University and played center in the NBA for three seasons with the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers. He then played professionally around the world and coached at the University of Bridgeport. Gaines has won five New York Section One Basketball Championships in his eleven years as Varsity Coach for Clark Academy (Dobbs Ferry, NY). He also played center in college for Tennessee State and after college with the Harlem Globetrotters.

The Greenwich Stars will have Fall Travel Team Basketball Tryouts on September 5, 6 for boys and girls ages 7-15. Fall Travel teams play from September – November. There will be 1-3 teams per age group. Players are welcome from all towns. Free Tryouts are held at Carmel Academy, 270 Lake Avenue. The Greenwich Stars have Travel and AAU teams, In-House Leagues, Clinics and Programs twelve months a year for every type of player. More importantly, 39 percent of the players receive scholarships and 100% of the coaches volunteer their free time in local schools and communities. “Our outstanding professional coaches make a difference in players’ lives on and off the court. We have no parent coaches and there’s no politics.” Raybin added.

The Greenwich Stars (Greenwich, CT) are the most respected and largest youth basketball organization in the New York and Connecticut area. The Greenwich Stars have won the Zero Gravity National Championship and are 6 time National Finalists. They have also won 47 major Spring tournaments, 19 Major Winter Championships and 15 Major Fall Tournaments.

The Greenwich Stars Basketball Organization is based in Greenwich, Connecticut and is for boys and girls ages 4-17. Players are welcome from all towns.
