Rob Sauerhaft Joins the Greenwich Stars as Senior Coach

Rob Sauerhaft has joined the Greenwich Stars as a senior basketball coach. Rob is a terrific communicator and he loves to teach the game of basketball. His practices are outstanding – fast-paced, energetic and challenging. Rob has successfully coached teams from elementary to high school. He has four goals for his players: Have Fun, Get Better, Learn the Game and Be a Great Teammate. Achieve those goals and the wins will follow.

Rob was raised in a sports-loving family in Armonk, NY, Rob grew up playing basketball, golf, soccer and baseball. He was captain of his high school basketball team. In college, he was a four-year starter and captain of his Division 1 golf team at Colgate University. Rob worked at Golf Magazine/Sports Illustrated Golf Group for 28 years, where he was a Managing Editor and award-winning writer. Currently, he’s a freelance writer and serves on the Board of Directors for The Eye Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit focused on multi-centered research as well as patient support services.

The Greenwich Stars (now in it’s 7th year) are the most popular and respected youth basketball organization in the region. The Stars are Zero Gravity National Basketball Champions. Professional Coaches. No Parent Coaches. No Politics.

The Greenwich Stars are a year round basketball organization – with Travel and AAU Teams, In-House leagues, clinics, private instruction and more. For boys and girls ages 4-17.
